Breaking Tradition Tour Kick Off at Creep Records

Thursday, June 9, some boys will be kicking off their tour with the other boys at Creep Records in Philadelphia, PA.  Breaking Tradition will be heading on tour with their Long Island friends in Table Talk.  The show will consist of 3 New Jersey bands alongside Table Talk.

 

In Angles

In Angles is a progressive Math rock band from East Brunswick, New Jersey with similar sound to bands such as Chiodos and Dance Gavin Dance.  They recently put out their first full-length LP, Cascading Home.  On their last track, “Circadian,” Kurt Travis is featured as a guest vocalist.  Travis is the former singer of the well-known post hardcore band, Dance Gavin Dance (CA).

Table Talk

Table Talk: Punk Rock Indie emo pop from Long Island, New York.  Table Talk is a 4-piece who recently just put out their debut EP, Table Talk, which you can download and stream off of bandcamp.  This will be their first show off their tour with Breaking Tradition, which will go until June 18.

Breaking Tradition

Breaking Tradition (hide away records) is a 4-piece alternative band from National Park, New Jersey.  With their long involvement in the music scene, Breaking Tradition recently purchased a 15-passenger van from Major League to start touring more often.  Their latest release, Vanity, is currently up for free on bandcamp for “name your own price” to celebrate a year of it being released.  Table Talk (TT) will be accompanying the Breaking Tradition (BT) boys for their first tour this summer, June 9-18, which you can reference below.

Sleep in.

Sleep in (hide away records) is an alternative emo band from Haddon Heights, New Jersey.  With their members having lots of past involvement in former bands such as The Progress, they have a great name with great music under their belt.  In April of 2014, they released their first debut LP, Settling, which is available on bandcamp for the completely reasonable price of $4.20.  More recently, Sleep in released two new songs for a 7” vinyl that you can purchase on bandcamp as well.  The variants are 100 clear, 200 white, and 200 translucent blue.  They also released a video for their song off the 7”, “Wisdom teeth” which you can watch here.

Sleep in is also heading on their own little tour themselves.  You can find all the dates below.

Sean McCall is a Music Business Technology Major studying at Rowan University with a Minor in Theatre.  He has been attending shows and events since he was in middle school and has had his own band he’s been involved in for about 7 years called Breaking Tradition.  He has been actively involved in the music scene since he was young and holds an overall passion for all types of music.  He has an ear for music and tries to pick up as many instruments as he can.  Sean has sung in multiple competitive honor choirs throughout the country, ranging from All-State Honor Choir to as far as All-National Honor Choir, and plans to take off in the Music Industry in as many ways possible.  Sean also recently helped book a show in Glassboro with his friends, Alex LaVallee and Alex Bradley, and plans to book many more independent shows in the near future.  With a passion for music, bands, and the overall scene, he is adding music journalism to his resumé to contribute even further into this talented area we call home.
