My name is Dia Nueva. I am a singer songwriter, and musican. I've been pursuing music my whole life. It feels like another language to me. From the notes and keys, to the lyrics and poetry. It has saved my life. I'm not the best public speaker, and I'm not always politically correct but when I write a song, I feel like its the only true authenticity in which my words hold weight.
I've been on this quest for people to hear my music for a long time. Growing up I was bullied, assaulted, misunderstood, lost, too obedient and then too rebellious. I recently feel like through my current EP titled "Say I Won't” I've finally discovered a comfortability within myself. I hope this project touches everybody who hears it. It's gotten me through some of my darkest times. Since I completed this project independently and funded it solely by myself, I would like to next have a lot of live performances. I composed it originally with organic instruments and then found the appropriate production for it later, so the stripped versions may really surprise some people but I feel as though it will hit home.
Advice that I have for others is maintain your focus, confidence, determination, and your faith. Focus on everything that you do have and make it work for you. If you focus on the glass being half full, you'll never feel half empty. If you focus on maintain your confidence when life hits you hard, you'll come up with a new plan or alternate solution as though it is second nature. When you focus on determination, you will never stop chasing what you love with an intensity no matter what factors seem to interrupt your goals. Last but not least, maintain your faith. When you maintain your faith, no matter how hopeless, dark, negative, or even half empty the glass may seem you will be always to see the light on the other side. Your faith will guide you through whatever obstacles presented to you. You will almost never be phased, and feel a glimpse of invincibility.
